Dracoders revs onto iPhone with Racing Mania
Micro Machines for the App Store generation
There's basic rules in development lore that you can't have too many first person shooters, RPGs or racing games.
In particular, you can't have too many topdown mini-racing games inspired by Codemasters' back-in-the-day success Micro Machines.
Good news for Italian studio Dracoders which is about to launch Racing Mania.
In keeping with the canon, it's a topdown mini-racer, with 2D graphics rendered down from 3D to give the best combination of framerate and quality. That's one of the reasons you get 10 cars onscreen.
Filling out the features, there are 10 cars for you to choose between, and 15 levels with themes such as desert, city, snow, each of which has its own music.
Neatly multiplayer is also supported either via Bluetooth or wi-fi.
You can get an idea how it plays in the following video.
