Queen’s Wish 2: The Tormentor, a retro empire builder, is out now on iOS

Spiderweb Software, which has been around for nearly three decades creating retro-inspired RPGs has just launched a sequel for their popular empire-building franchise, Queen’s Wish. Titled Queen’s Wish 2: The Tormentor, the fantasy RPG is the second in a trilogy, which focuses on the empire of Haven.

Haven may mean that it is a place of safety, but the empire is anything but that. Queen Shayrn has fallen extremely ill and the kingdom is in chaos, with someone needing to rise to the occasion. That’s where you, the player, come in.

In Queen’s Wish 2: The Tormentor, players assume the role of Empress Shayrn’s youngest born, whose life has been uprooted as all his luxuries are taken away. The queen’s life is hanging by a thread and as a result, players have been forced to travel to Rokaj.

This will not be any ordinary journey as Rokaj is known as the land of the savages. It is populated by warriors who only know brutality, which makes the region extremely fragile and susceptible to constant rebellions. From commanding servants to survive in the wild, the road ahead will not be easy.

Players will find themselves in a power struggle, where not everyone can be pleased. They can serve the empire, or free the unhappy servants. The masters at home are waiting to order, but the assassins outside are pushing for chaos. A massive rebellion is coming, and nothing can be done.

The story is extremely immersive, and open-ended, allowing players to roam through cities, forts, and dungeons as they please. The turn-based combat will ensure that gameplay decisions are taken strategically, using the large arsenal of skills, perks, and magical artifacts.

Every decision taken will influence the large picture as the game features multiple different endings. While players will be building forts and upgrading them, they will also have to deal with trouble through various means of bribery, diplomacy, and violence.

Do you have what it takes to assume control of a crumbling empire? Then download Queen’s Wish 2: The Tormentor for $9.99 on the App Store.
