Punball: A few tips to help you in this pinball shooter
PunBall is a game that really combines a couple of classic games into one. It gives you the arcade wonder of Galaga while also providing you with another all-time game in pinball to give you a two-in-one experience on your phone or tablet.
Your goal is to just rack up as many points as you can by shooting down enemies in a Galaga or Space Invaders layout. The pinball aspect comes into play as your shots will ricochet and bounce around a little bit.
You'll play through different areas and the better you play, the faster you'll be able to level up. The game is pretty straightforward overall but there are some more things in the game than meets the eye. We'll give you a few tips to get your PunBall adventure going.
Tip #1 - Take Out The Nearest Enemies
This in some ways can seem obvious but it may not be as much as you think. The enemies that are the wall that you shoot at will attack you the closer that they get. Instead of going for foes towards the top, start aiming for the ones that are nearing you.
This is a good form of defense and allows you to stay alive longer. Your health can drain pretty quick if you aren't careful so definitely pay attention to the foes approaching. You won't be able to get them all, but feel free to try your best.
More enemies form regularly so you'll have to be on alert. Don't worry, it's not insane or anything but it's just good to be aware as there will be other distractions too. This actually leads into our next tip which can really change the course of your game.
Tip #2 - Take Advantage of Power Up Opportunities
We sort of teased this a little bit in the previous tip but there are more than just enemies on the wall. You'll see items that you can blast at as well. Shoot these and you'll get a buff. The cool thing is that you can choose from three random ones. Anyone you select will help you slaughter your foes. One example is the fireball.
When you shoot these beauties, you'll not only hit enemies, you'll set them on fire too. This effect will last for several seconds, dealing a consistent amount of damage. These can make things so much easier for you as enemies will die out while you focus on other areas.
So just keep your eyes peeled for those lovely items. They can really help you rack up the score and they're just fun to use. You just never know what you can snatch to change the outcome of your game.
Tip #3 - Collect Gems
In Punball, you have a couple of different forms of currency. One is coins which is the most common kind that you'll earn by playing on the levels. The other is gems which allow you to give your character some bonus skills and make each round more interesting.
One of these for example is the ability to start with a fair chunk of coins each time you play. This as you can imagine is pretty awesome as this will let you level up and earn more rewards at a faster rate. So in short, look at these as major perks and with gems being tougher to get, you can understand their importance.
You can collect simply by playing the game but they will appear at random times as you slaughter enemies and such. When you finally get one or two, it'll feel quite rewarding in the end, so fire away, young pinball mage.
