PUBG Mobile's push into esports and plans to tout it more heavily have continued, this time around registration has opened for the hotly-anticipated 2025 Global Open which will bring in amateur teams and players from across the world. The grand prize? The lion's share of a half-million-dollar prize pool!
You can register for the 2025 PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) from today until February 9th, with the main event set to take place in April from the 12th to the 13th. This time around the open will be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with that hefty $500,000 prize pool up for grabs. It's all part of PUBG Mobile Esports' big push into growing their grassroots competitive scene, with a reported $10m lined up for prize pools, third-party tournament incentives and more.
Of course, you won't be able to just sign up and find yourself flying out to Uzbekistan. Before you compete you'll need to succeed in a series of open qualifiers, with successful participants progressing through a number of stages until only a handful of teams are left.

It's never easy to manage and encourage a vibrant, thriving esports scene for any game (just look at Overwatch) but PUBG Mobile's move to encourage a grassroots competitive scene for their community seems to be bearing fruit.
Of course, this isn't just locals down at your hometown library, and competition is sure to be fierce with such big money on the line. Ahead of PUBG Mobile's return to the Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia, it's no surprise they're trying to keep the fans outside of this high-profile event well looked after.
