Pokemon Go will feature Slowpoke and Galarian Slowpoke in the March 2023 Community Day
| Pokemon GO
March has just begun and Niantic has already released its calendar of events for Pokémon Go. This month also saw the launch of the AR game’s latest Season, Rising Heroes. That means, new stories will be brimming, more Pokémon from different regions will join us, and there will be loads of new stuff to do. Let’s look at what March 2023’s Community Day has in store for trainers.
The March 2023 Community Day on Pokémon Go will be held on the 18th, between 2:00 and 5:00 pm local time. It is set to feature not one, but two variants of a Pokémon – Slowpoke and its Galarian twin. The Dopey Pokémon will frequent the wilds more than usual, with its Shiny version also making a few appearances.
Like it is with these events, the point is to catch as many of the event Pokémon as possible. The reason? Candies! Gathering enough candies means Slowpoke can evolve into Slowbro, and ultimately into Slowking. All Slowpokes that will evolve during or up to five hours after the event will learn the Charged Attack Surf.
But, there’s a catch this time. Trainers cannot simply evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowbro by feeding it candies. Before that, they must capture 30 Poison-type Pokémon while the Galarian Slowpoke is their buddy. After that, they will be able to evolve it.
It seems tough, but there are a bunch of bonuses to help players out. Throughout the event, trainers will earn 3x XP and 2x Candy for capturing Pokémon. All Lure Modules and Incense activated during the event will last for three hours. Additionally, Special Trades will be cheaper and an extra one can be performed too.
Don’t forget to check out the Community Day Special Research Story – Field Notes: Slow and Slower which costs a dollar and the Bonus Raid Battle featuring Slowpoke after the event ends.
