Pokémon Go fans have a lot to look forward to in October as the current Festival of Lights event is ongoing to celebrate Diwali, and this will be followed by the first part of Halloween 2022 celebrations. Lots of new Pokémon are making their debuts and there is a tonne of events being held to catch many more and collect hordes of rewards.

Among all these celebrations, a new feature joins Pokémon Go. Up until now, Raid Battles focussed on the regular raids featuring different Pokémon, five-star ones with Legendries, and Mega Raids that showcased Mega Pokémon. Coming to the AR game today is a new category of raids, called Elite Raids.

Elite Raids raise the bar as they are the newest and most challenging of the available Raid Battles. These battles are a result of special Raid Eggs hatching. These eggs take 24 hours to crack, and when they do, a powerful raid boss appears for 30 minutes.

Also, considering the challenge involved in these raids, they cannot be completed from home using Remote Raid Passes. Players will have to gather their friends and visit the gym in order to fight in the Elite Raid. Defeating the Pokémon will then grant an encounter with it in order to catch it.

Last season, all of us were engaged in Hoopa’s mischief so it is only fair if the Mischief Pokémon is to kick off this new type of Raid Battles. Hence, the first Pokémon featured in the Elite Raids is Hoopa in its Unbound form, which makes it much stronger than it already is. With a better move set and stats, Hoopa Unbound is the perfect addition to your squad.

This is just the first Elite Raid, with many more planned during Pokémon Go’s Season of Light. Download Pokémon Go now for free.
