Pokémon Go is giving away a perfect IV Mewtwo to celebrate its 10th anniversary

Pokémon Go's 10th anniversary hits today, and for the first time in forever I actually feel old. But it's hard to recapture the genuine excitement that swept the world with the release of Pokémon Go. So it seems only fitting that the Pokémon Go team are celebrating with a brand-new, special timed research.

What's on offer from this new timed research? Well, nothing short of fan-favourite Pokémon Mewtwo. And I know what you're thinking: this has to be pretty tricky, right? Well, no, because to get Mewtwo, all you need to do is capture and power up ten different Pokémon!

And yes, this version of Mewtwo does come with maxed-out stats, and you also get a Master Ball for your trouble. While it may not be as grandiose as many of you might have expected, I've no doubt that plenty of you are already running to your phones and headed out to get started.

You'll have a surprising length of time to complete the timed research too, with it being available up until September 6th! So you've got plenty of time to grab those rewards, and enjoy some time (though hopefully not too much) out in the sun.

For me, it's a bit of a bittersweet moment. I never really got into Pokémon Go as much as I wanted, which is a shame because I remember those halcyon days of trying it for the first time quite fondly. Who knows, maybe now's the time to jump in and try to recapture that?
