People have made some truly dizzying creations with redstone in Minecraft. Ranging from simple gates and mechanisms to full-fledged mechanical computers. So it seems only natural that the tool would inspire someone to translate its complexities to puzzles!
Which is precisely what premium mobile puzzler Pight does. This minimalist logic puzzler requires that you shift blocks around, using pistons, dynamite and portals to clear the way for a light that will reach the energy source and, erm, light up. Pight focuses on not using tutorials, instead directing the player to organically learn the game and its various systems, all rendered in a very neat graphical style.
Crafting a lawsuit?
About the only issue I can see with Pight in the future is that, well, it's got some very big nods to Minecraft. The TNT, portals and even the lights greatly resemble their Minecraft equivalents, and given that Microsoft is not known for tolerating potential copyright infringement, hopefully we won't see any issues in future.But, outside of those concerns, Pight is a great example of how another game can hit on a great concept that they don't explore, and how a developer can then expand on that and turn it into something even greater!
Pight is a premium game, so you'll need to pay upfront to gain access. But that $3.99 will net you 90 levels with eight different mechanics being introduced throughout. Not a bad price for what seems to be a very complete package, especially for redstone enthusiasts.
