Oxenfree II: Lost Signals, sequel to the acclaimed supernature thriller, is releasing on mobile this summer

Nintendo held its Indie World Showcase today and quite a few upcoming games were unveiled. One of them was Night School’s Oxenfree II: Lost Signals, a sequel to the critically acclaimed supernatural thriller that was released on Netflix Games last year. It is set to launch on all major platforms later this summer.

Oxenfree II takes place five years after the events of its predecessors, which saw two siblings open a ghostly rift on Edward Island. The follow-up explores the story of Riley Poverly, an environmental researcher from Camena, who returns home to examine the abnormal radio signals that are triggering disruptions in her electronic equipment.

This move throws her down a rabbit hole that points back to the longstanding ghostly occurrences on Edward Islands, which is not too far from her. Suddenly, Riley finds herself stuck in this frightening supernatural mystery. The game offers a thrilling experience to players as they embark on a new journey that employs Night School’s signature naturalistic dialogue system.

Speaking of what’s new, Sean Krankel, co-founder and studio director at Night School, said: “With OXENFREE II: Lost Signals, we wanted to tap into the essence and world that made the original game so special, while immersing players in a brand new story with even higher stakes. This game has been a labor of love, and we can’t wait for players to embody Riley, shaping her through life altering choices and overcoming supernatural challenges that threaten to destroy her future.”

Oxenfree II: Lost Signals will launch on Android and iOS for Netflix subscribers on July 12th. You can check out the official website for more information. To find a community of other eager fans and get all the latest developments, follow their Facebook page as well.
