NieR Reincarnation introduces a new version of the fan favorite Gayle in the latest banner to roll on

NiER Reincarnation has released its latest banner, which comes with a brand new 4-star rarity Costume of Gayle titled the Abyssal Hunter. This hellish version of everyone’s favourite mechanical vengeance-seeking sister sees her adorned with a glitchy red energy around her arm and leg, and of course, gives her a bunch of new abilities as well as a brand new weapon to match too.

Gayle has been a fan favourite since her introduction as one of the original three that players come across when they begin the story of NiER Reincarnation, and given how tragic her story is, it’s easy to see why everyone has been a fan of her and her now numerous other versions. As for this new Abyssal Hunter version, this one seems to be her darkest variant yet.

As we all know, Gayle lost her sister to the invasion of a distant kingdom upon her village, after they kidnapped them both and turned them into weapons. She kept her sanity, but her sister lost her mind and she was forced to cut her down herself. This is represented in the Abyssal Hunter’s flavour text, which seems to be a mental conversation with herself, and I highly suggest reading it yourself to get more lore about Gayle herself.

Now for you meta players out there, Abyssal Hunter also appears to be quite a powerhouse. Her abilities all increase her damage, with one being a flat 40% buff, the 2nd increasing void-affinity damage, and her last upping her damage by 20% when her HP is below 60%.

Her ultimate is a massive damage nuke, dealing 380% damage flat. As you can tell by all of these crazy buffs, she’s a DPS-focused character and will surely demolish your opponents with ease.
