Alien: Isolation is a survival shooter where you will have to contend with a Xenomorph and an army of androids aboard Sevastopol, a remote trading station. The reason? To search for Ellen Ripley, of course.
You play as her daughter Amanda who sets off on a journey to uncover the truth behind her mother's disappearance. Alien: Isolation is a slower affair than the other entries on this list. You will spend more time hiding than shooting, at times. But it's an incredibly tense experience that makes fantastic use of the Alien licence.
Shadowgun Legends
Sticking with the sci-fi theme, we have Shadowgun Legends, Madfinger Games' latest mobile shooter. Whether you're looking for a solo or multiplayer experience, this game has you covered with several modes.
You can dive into the Story Campaign on your own or team up with one of your pals in co-op. Speaking of which, you can also join forces with other players in the PvE Raids and Arenas, battling against intimidating bosses to earn loot. And finally, if you're seeking something more competitive, you can jump into PvP, with 1v1 or 4v4 variants available.
Space Marshals 2
Finally, we have a shooter for the more tactically minded folks among us. Space Marshals 2 sees you playing as Burton as he looks to fight crime across the galaxy. You can avoid incoming attacks by ducking into cover and then flank enemies to get the upper hand on them. Your arsenal includes more than guns, with frag grenades, flash bangs, drones, and mines at your disposal.
But going into each situation loud could swiftly end in your demise. So, you might prefer to take a stealthy approach instead. That means using silenced weapons and takedowns to reduce enemy numbers. Then, sure, when there's less to worry about, pull out a shotgun and empty some lead.
