But is it a PSP or a Gizmondo?

Over in South Korea, there are quite a few gaming-focused personal media players (PMPs) - offering games, music and video on widescreen devices. They don't usually make it over here though.

The Westrend Racer has though. It's a handheld device that according to PMP Today is based on an existing Korean device called MyRacer.

It's got dedicated gaming buttons, and can play games coded using Adobe's Flash technology. We're not entirely sure how you can find and download these games here in the West, mind.

Anyway, the device can also play music (MP3, WMA and WAV) and videos, as well as display photos and e-books. It's got a nifty-looking 2.4-inch widescreen display too, with a 320x240-pixel resolution.

The device appears to be available in France now, judging by its official product page.

However, it looks unlikely to take on the PSP in the near future. In fact, it's got a distinct whiff of the Gizmondo about it.
