There's some pretty decent new stuff in the Nintendo 3DS eShop this week, with some well-known developers getting in on the digital act.

So to speak.

The new releases section of the Virtual Console isn't looking too shabby, either, thanks to a few fresh releases and a couple of sales on some Nintendo classics.

Onwards to Nintendo downloadable content heaven!

European eShop releases

Hydroventure: Spin Cycle is a physics-based puzzler from Curve Studios, whom you might know as the studio behind Explodemon and Stealth Bastard.

Curve's latest release is an expansion to the original Hydroventure for WiiWare. In Spin Cycle, you guide water around a variety of levels. It costs £8.99, and looks really fun. We will, of course, be reviewing it soon.

But, the one that you have all probably been looking forward to the most is Crimson Shroud, the final title in Level-5's Guild 01 Collection.

It's a tribute to tabletop RPGs, with digital dice rolling and plenty of monsters. Expect a review from us soon, but if you want to just go for it, we wouldn't blame you - it costs £7.19.

As for the Virtual Console, there are no new titles. However, the first two Metroid games are on sale. Metroid is now £3.19 (down from £4.49), while Metroid II - Return of Samus is £2.69 (down from £3.59).

US eShop releases

As for our 3DS-toting American readers, well, you've got a different range of new games to stuck into.

Crimson Shroud is also now available to you guys, and it'll cost you $7.99. Again, we'll have a review up on the site soon.

However, you lucky devils can also download Joindots's Gardenscapes from the US 3DS eShop. Your grandfather's garden is looking pretty run down, and you need to sell your old stuff to pay for a revamp.

Is it any good? We have no idea yet. But, it'll cost you $7.99 if you're willing to go all in on the concept.

Virtual Console-wise, US gamers can get their mitts on the original Ninja Gaiden this week for $4.99. It was previously released on the NES console, and it's a tricky but essential platformer. Don't say we didn't warn you.

See you again next week, chaps!
