It's Christmas time, and that means that some of you will be receiving a brand spanking new Nintendo 3DS on the 25th. Good for you!

But, the question remains: what games do you buy for the sucker?

When it comes to the 3DS's digital eShop, there's plenty to be had, including some new titles that are going live in the run-up to the big day.

This week, then, there have been some noteworthy new releases on the eShop. Oh, and plenty of titles have had their prices slashed.

Get stuck in, folks.

European eShop releases

What do we know about escapeVektor? Well, it's from Australian developer Nnooo, whom you might recognise as the team responsible for the Spirit Hunters series on Nintendo DSi.

We're also aware that escapeVektor is an arena shooter set inside a computer. As for its price, well, it'll set you back £8.99, which is a quid more than the game is retailing for on PS Vita. Is it any good, though? Watch this space for a review.

Gunman Clive may sound familiar. That's because it's a mobile game that has finally been ported over to 3DS. Your only friend is a pistol. There are baddies to shoot, circular saws to leap over, and pretty much everything else you'd find in a classic Clint Eastwood flick.

The game costs £1.79, which is a very decent price for such a lovely game. Plus, any issues we had with the touchscreen controls have no doubt been resolved thanks to the chunky 3DS buttons. Hurray!

If you're a New Super Mario Bros. 2 lover, you'll be delighted to read that the final two Coin Rush DLC packs are now available to download. The Mystery Adventure Pack features sprawling labyrinth-style levels, while the Impossible Pack is, well, ridiculously hard.

Now for some sales action.

In the Virtual Console section, the original Super Mario Bros. game has been reduced to £3.69, down from £4.69. Not a huge discount, but we'll take it.

Dr. Mario is also on sale - that's now £1.19, down from £2.69.

Finally, the wonderful Rising Board has received a price cut. Prior to today, it cost £2.69. Now, it's going for just £1.79. Can you really put a price on surfing penguins? Apparently, you can.

US eShop releases

Americans can also grab escapeVektor from their eShop. Hand over $9.99, and this Nnooo-developed game is all yours.

PIX3D is also out in the US this week. Unfortunately, it's a bit rubbish. But, if you do want to have a pop at it, it will set you back $3.99.

Virtual Console-wise, the glorious Wario Land 2 is now available this week, priced $4.99. It's a classic Nintendo platformer that you really need to experience if you haven't already.

But, forget everything else: Riding Stables 3D is out this week! In it, you train horses, solve mysteries, enter competitions. $29.99 is the going rate for this full-price bad boy.

Other new full-price retail-to-digital titles to surface this week include Mario Tennis Open, Pilotwings Resort, Pokemon Rumble Blast, and Bit Trip Saga. The only one really worth grabbing is Bit Trip Saga, which at $15 is a proper steal.

Have a great 3DS Christmas, everyone!
