Just because it's E3 week doesn't mean that Nintendo is going to rest on its laurels.

Indeed, The Big N has pulled off a blinder this week for European 3DS owners.

Oh, and it's tapped up its BFF Sega for some Virtual Console goodness.

See: I told you this week's eShop selection would be a country mile better than last week's, didn't I. Just call me Mystic Mike. Or Magic Mike. Hang on - maybe not Magic Mike, actually.

Anyway. Let's get on with the show...

European eShop releases

Animal Crossing: New Leaf is a game that you may have heard of. It's meant to be sort of good. Well, okay, it's actually downright lovely.

You can buy it at midnight tonight for £34.99 from the eShop.

Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns is now available in digital form. Yep, it was released as a retail title last year.

It's the best Harvest Moon game available on Nintendo 3DS, so you should definitely consider downloading it.

PETZ Fantasy 3D is also now available as a digital download. And it's, welllll, interesting. £17.99 for that.

4 Elements appears to be your bog-standard match-three game. It costs £10.79.

And here comes Sega...

The original handheld Sonic The Hedgehog is now on the eShop, priced £4.49. You may not have played this edition before, as it's a different game from the Mega Drive version.

Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, meanwhile, is an old skool colour-matching puzzle game. It's got a reasonable £2.69 price tag around its virtual neck.

Shining Force: Sword of Hajya is a tactical role-playing classic. Again, it's a different game from its Mega Drive counterpart. £3.59 is the RRP for that.

And, finally, the wonderful Columns. This is the match-three game that spawned / inspired a million copycats. History, people, history.

US eShop releases

Americans: you can download Mighty Switch Force 2 this week. This puzzle-platforming sequel is relatively good fun.

If you have $5.99 going spare, you know what to do with it. Yes. Yes, you do.

Big Bass Arcade: No Limit is yet another fishing game for the 3DS. It costs $6.99, and it features tons of different fish species, challenges, and tournaments. Who knows: maybe it's reel good? Ahem.

Yip e! Picross e is now available for download. Enough said.

And, yeah, all those Sega Game Gear titles I mentioned up there are available on the US eShop, too.

Back again next week.
