Stealth masterclass: still no sign of Snake

The next eight days in handheld games

Stealth masterclass: still no sign of Snake
|
DS + PSP

We could pretend it didn't happen. You know, simply brush it under the carpet. Talk about something else.

How about Driver 76, which is out this week on PSP and looks promising? Or next Friday's potential hotshot, the ridiculously long-named SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2? Heck, we'd even happily discuss Pony Friends all day if it meant we could avoid the subject.

But, inevitably, we have to face facts at some point. That's right, Innocent Life: A Futuristic Harvest Moon has been delayed by a week.

What, you thought we were referring to the absolute shambles of the aborted Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops European release? Please, we've all but lost hope on that one. The game has suffered delay after delay and this latest setback is just one step too far. It's not unlike being trapped in a bad Beadle's About (or Candid Camera for those not in the UK) sketch.

It's an excellent game (if you haven't already, read our review), and the European version does promise a little extra content but enough is enough. Honestly, unless it turns up next week (and that looks unlikely as Konami has yet to make an official statement regarding the incident), our advice is to import it from the US (it's been available there since last December, remember).

UPDATE: According to reports, Konami is saying Portable Ops will now turn up in Europe on May 25th.
