Sibblingz games platform to work across Facebook, iPhone and web
Three become one

Maybe it's a case of 'here comes the science bit' but US company Sibblingz has just announced a new technology that enables developers to create the same game for players on iPhone, Facebook and the web.
It's still in the early stages, with various companies using the Sibblingz Platform as part of a closed beta program, but it could certainly be significant in 2010 as iPhone developers look to branch out into other areas of social gaming.
We're already seen some of this sort of thing of course, with Playdom releasing an iPhone client for its MySpace game Mobsters, while Iron Will Studios' Outer Empires already works across iPhone, Facebook and the web (sort of), and it's going for Android and Xbox Live.
The point of Sibblingz's approach however is that it will enable all developers to use the technology and not have to worry about making it themselves.
This is exactly what happened with the social gaming networks such as OpenFeint, Scoreloop, Plus+ and Agon Online. Give away your code for free, while working out another way to make money, and you'll kickstart an entirely new sector.
And some developers already seem pretty pleased with the Sibblingz Platform.
"As an iPhone game developer, Sibblingz's multi-platform framework will allow us to fully realise the social, always-available app we've dreamed of making," said Dani Zuniga of Ayumusoft, which released the iPhone game Hexistentialism.
"I will be building my next generation games on the Sibblingz framework," echoed Blake Commagere, developer of some of the first social Facebook games such as Zombies, Vampires, Werewolves, and Slayers.
