One XPlayer is a handheld game console that allows you to play PC games on the go

One-Netbook and Tencent has launched One XPlayer, a handheld games console with high-performance specs that supports PC games, on Indiegogo.

This new games console is powered like a PC, complete with Windows 10, and allows you to play games on the go like a traditional handheld.

It’s being developed by One-Netbook technology which aims to provide an immersive gaming experience for gamers at all times. If you’re curious about the specifications of the hardware behind this platform, here they are:

• CPU: Intel Core i7-1185G7
• Screen: 2560 x 1600
• Battery: 15,300mA
• Linear trigger
• Double cooling fans
• Ergonomic design
• USB ports: 2x USB4.0 thunderbolt + 1x USB 3.0
• Storage: Available in 2TB, 1TB and 500GB

The console also features a bracket on the back, which provides firm and stable support for the console when needed. The screen also has no black border, meaning it will be possible to see it from any angle.

The controllers resemble the Switch’s Joy-Con attachments, though the actual design of them closer resembles Xbox’s ergonomically comfortable controllers with the optimised position and arcs of buttons preventing cramped fingers. The linear triggers, on the other hand, help with fast-paced games due to their ease-of-use, heloing with shooting or sports games where timing is key.

As for the price, the One XPlayer is available to purchase now from Indiegogo at an early bird pricing of $899 USD, with retail price expanding to $1,159.

Considering the technology behind it, this price tag doesn’t seem too surprising. It may be a while yet before handheld gaming PCs become more accessible to lower-income gamers.
