iPhone 4 packs double the memory of 3GS and iPad, 512MB
iPhone 4 never forgets
The iPhone 4, as outed in a developer video session from WWDC, packs 512MB of RAM beneath its sexy stainless steel trim. That’s double the memory of the 3GS and the iPad, giving it as much random access storage as the Xbox 360.
The more memory on board, the more intensive applications will run on the iPhone. We’ve already seen games like Espgaluda II that require the extra juice from the 3GS, and multi-tasking won’t appear on the ancient iPhone 3G because of its low memory.
It also confirms why video slicing and splicing app iMovie will be exclusive to the iPhone 4, and will help in running all those super high resolution visuals of the iPhone 4's retina display screen.
iPhone 4 releases in the UK on June 25th.
