iPhone 4 has started shipping to customers

There’s a FedEx tracking app for that

iPhone 4 has started shipping to customers

Apple has started emailing some lucky customers to let them know that their snazzy new iPhone 4s are in the post, and on their way around North America.

The shipping notes say that the phone is expected to be delivered by June 23rd, a day before the iPhone 4 officially goes on sale. Apple has been known to work with postage companies like FedEx to keep products from shipping early (the US iPad launch), but sometimes lets products slip a day before release (the UK iPad launch).

If you’ve been on the fence, though, you’ll be hard pressed to get the new device this month. Online orders won’t be shipped until July 14th, so you’ll have to brave the queues at the Apple Store.
