Super Crate Box is a fast-paced platformer that comes with a handful of bite-sized stages.

You aim in each of these levels is to avoid endless waves of enemies and grab as many boxes as you possibly can. That's a lot harder to do than it sounds, by the way.

Luckily, every time you collect a crate, you also get your mitts on a weapon, which you can use to blast pesky monsters to kingdom come.

Random Heroes is another excellent platformer from Ravenous Games. That's the studio responsible for equally excellent Pocket Gamer Award-winning titles League of Evil and League of Evil 2.

Basically, you have to take control of one of 15 different heroes, and attempt to save the world across more than 30 levels.

You have guns and other weapons to help you out, but don't expect a walk in the park - this is one tricky game.
