NBA All-World, Niantic's latest AR endeavour, is now available for iOS and Android

NBA All-World, Niantic's latest augmented reality game, is now available for iOS and Android. Much like Pokemon Go and Pikmin Bloom, geolocation will take a huge role in the gameplay as you wander about the world looking to prove your basketball skills.

So what's your reason for hitting the streets? Finding today's biggest NBA stars and recruiting them to your team, of course. Once acquired, you can level up them to improve their three-point prowess before aiming to top the leaderboards at your local court. There are over 100,000 of them in the game at launch, so hopefully, you can find one near you to conquer.

To give your squad a helping hand on the court, you can give them Offense, Defense and Fitness Boosts. Meanwhile, a steady supply of Energy Drinks is required to ensure your team has the stamina to maintain their peak performance.

After recruiting a player, you can challenge them in subsequent encounters for some practice and to net some Cred. As you continue to recruit more skilled players, your overall Team level will also increase.

On top of that, you will need to scour the world for drops to kit out your favourite players. You will be able to find tops, shorts, and trainers at Drop Zones, with all of the gear designed by well-known brands. And you'll want to keep your eyes peeled, as some Gear offers stat increases alongside looking awesome.

It's an interesting spin on the AR idea, and I'm intrigued to see how well it will do. AR games beyond Pokemon Go have struggled to make much of an impact, with Harry Potter: Wizard's Unite closing down a few years back and The Witcher: Monster Slayer shutting its doors this June. Will the pull of the NBA make a difference?

NBA All-World is now available on the App Store and Google Play as a free-to-play game. You can download it for your preferred platform using the links below.
