The Witcher: Monster Slayer announces end of service, gives players until June 30th to enjoy the game

It's a sad day for Witchers as the Spokko team has officially announced the end of service for The Witcher: Monster Slayer, the mobile AR game set in the popular Witcher franchise. The game will be shutting down on June 30th next year, giving players a little over half a year to enjoy the title while they still can.

In The Witcher: Monster Slayer, players can scour the world looking for nasty fiends to slay as proper Witchers in a location-based AR experience. The game offers an opportunity to feel what it's like to follow Geralt's footsteps as they fight monsters up close and immerse themselves in the lore of the Continent.

"We are very thankful for sharing all of this with such an amazing and passionate community from all over the world. This journey, filled with quests, events, and adventure, would not have been possible without you - together, we defeated over 100 million monsters worldwide, after all!" says the official end-of-service post.

It's always heartbreaking to see a game go, but for now, players still have the chance to experience the title by downloading it on the iOS App Store and on the Google Play Store until January 31st. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases, so you can still give it a shot before it shuts down if you're curious to see what it's like to become a Witcher yourself.

For more information on the particulars of the game's closing, you can also check the official FAQs to see details on the game's shop, the development team, the specifics on why the game is shutting down, and more.
