EA’s new brawler, MMA, (or Mixed Martial Arts) has just been unleashed upon the App Store, bringing the fully-licensed tournament (that isn’t UFC) to the iPhone for the first time.

While it may not carry the more prized UFC license, MMA still has some tricks up its sleeve that could potentially make it worth investigating.

These include some of the world's most legendary fighters, like Fedor Emelianenko and Randy Couture, as well as a unique touchscreen-specific control scheme that does away with virtual joysticks and concentrates on controller specific limbs.

Away from the ring, there’s a fighter creation and career mode that integrates training and RPG-like stat boosting, as well as a whole bunch of famous match-ups taken from the sport’s history.

MMA is available now on the App Store for £2.99 / $4.99 / €3.99 and can be bought using the link below.
