MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2020 launches for iOS and Android with an updated roster and new mode

Following its soft-launch last month, Glu Games' MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2020 has now released globally for iOS and Android.

This latest entry in the popular series serves up a number of small improvements over its predecessors and a new mode to get stuck into. On top of the fresh additions, the in-game roster has obviously been updated to reflect the 2020 MLB teams.

The updated roster also benefits from having been streamlined. Now, you'll have the same roster for all game modes, which should hopefully help to alleviate any needless confusion.

You're going to be able to recruit current superstars and legends of the sport to your roster. There's also the option to create your very own player and see how they fare against the pros.

Some of the modes on offer include Home Run Battles, Walk Off Hero, Slugfest, Season Mode, Event Royale, and Pick'em. Target Bash is an all-new mode that requires you to hit tricky targets and home runs for massive rewards.

To date, the series has amassed over 40 million downloads. And with MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2020 having already rocketed to #2 on the App Store's Sport category, the numbers show no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

As pointed out by PocketGamer.biz, the game first soft-launched in Canada on February 15th, which feels a little shorter than most soft-launch periods.

MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2020 is now available for download as a free-to-play title from both the App Store and Google Play. It sounds like a sizable improvement over last year's version, and I'm sure New York Yankees fans will be pleased to see Aaron Judge on the cover.
