Microscopya is an educational game that takes players on a tour inside the cells of the human body
Beata Science Art is aiming to take players on a science-themed adventure with its new game called Microscopya, which release for iOS and Android on July 8th. The game will be available on mobile and will give players a detailed view of the intricacies of the cells in our bodies and how they do what they do. The developers’ goal is to make more students curious about the STEAM Field.
Microscopya is essentially a love letter to biology as the game takes established scientific facts and converts them into beautifully hand-drawn illustrations and puzzles. Players will be able to explore various molecular mechanisms and learn how the cell functions to sustain life. It takes things much further than “the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell”.
There’s a tonne of customization available as well as players will be able to create their own characters who’ll explore the immersive universe that exists inside all of us. Expect to see the lipid bilayer of the plasma membrane, motor proteins, the nucleus, microfilaments and so much more. Everything will be presented in a puzzle-like format where players will be completing various tasks surrounding that part of the cell and in doing so, they’ll gain new information as well. People of all ages and backgrounds will enjoy Microscopya as the details are so gorgeously represented.
The spearheads behind Microscopya are Dr Beata Mierzwa, Matthew Cooney, Jamie van Dyck and Atelier Monarch Studios. The game takes on the subject of women empowerment as well, by creating a female protagonist so that more girls are able to picture themselves as successful scientists in a world where there is a lack of female role models.
