Capcom's SNES classic Mega Man X has just blasted onto the New Zealand App Store for iPhone, meaning residents of the UK and US will be able to download the game this evening at midnight.

Mega Man X has been significantly tweaked for Apple's touchscreen phone, with Capcom applying a 21st-century gloss to this ageing fan favourite via updated graphics and full-screen support.

In addition, Story mode now offers easy and normal options, with the former modifying the standard gameplay to ease newcomers in gently.

For the competitive amongst you, Capcom has added Game Centre support, allowing you to compare your high scores with other gamers online.

Mega Man X on iPhone will retail for £2.99 / $3.99 when it touches down on UK and American soil later this evening.
