Marvel Contest of Champions adds mutant characters Jubilee and Stryfe

Kabam Games’ Marvel Contest of Champions has debuted two new characters into the action fighter, this time adding X-Men mutants Jubilee and Stryfe into the mix.

A powerful unseen force attacks the peaceful Mutant lands of Krakoa, and Cable has teamed up with a young mutant to track down whoever is capable of such an attack.

As with all new character updates brought to Marvel Contest of Champions, Kabam has released a new motion comic depicting the backstory behind the addition of Jubilee and Stryfe. We’ve embedded it below so you can see for yourself what the game has in store for you this month.

Jubilee grew up wealthy, attending a private school and became an exceptional gymnast. But after her parents were assassinated, she was orphaned and taken in by the X-Men when her explosive mutant powers began to manifest. As for Stryfe, he was kidnapped by the villainous Apocalypse as an infant child and then later abandoned. He grew up embittered and alone, seeking vengeance on those who wronged him.

Marvel Contest of Champions is the fighting game set in the Marvel Comics universe and features many popular characters from its long legacy. New content is added each month, with recent additions including Spider-Ham, Immortal Hulk and Immortal Abomination. These updates are usually accompanied by bug fixes and smaller improvements, the details of which can be read here. Jubilee and Stryfe will arrive in Marvel Contest of Champions this month, and you can download the game from the iOS App Store or Google Play for Android. It’s a free to play title containing in-app purchases.
