- Act 8: The Rebirth and Summoners Fest bring high-stakes battles and competition
July’s update brought Human Torch to the forefront, but Kabam isn’t letting the heat die down just yet. Marvel Contest of Champions is diving headfirst into August with a fiery new update packed with fresh Champions, a villain-centric storyline, and a series of high-stakes quests designed to test even the most seasoned Summoners.
August introduces not one, but two fearsome new foes to Marvel Contest of Champions. First up is Solvarch, an Eidol who can freeze enemies with a touch and unleash absorbed power in devastating bursts. You’ll get your shot at earning Solvarch starting August 7th.

Then on August 28th, Cassandra Nova joins the fray, a sinister psychic force you may recognise from her recent appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine. As the shadowy mirror to Charles Xavier, she’s set to wreak havoc across The Battlerealm.

But this villain takeover doesn’t stop at character drops. The Rebirth Event kicks off August 8th, bringing back familiar enemies with revamped movesets and tougher challenges. Earning Rebirth Tokens unlocks access to 7-Star Champions, including Night Thrasher, Anti-Venom, and Doctor Voodoo, though you’ll need to act fast as the event ends September 3rd.
The new Crucible Chapter in Act 8: The Rebirth launches August 13th and is here to stay. This gauntlet of eight bosses features Elimination Choice Nodes, meaning you’ll need to pick your Champion wisely to clear the path. For newer players, there’s also an Act 8 Mini Crucible tuned for 2 and 3-Star Champions.
Rounding it all out is Summoners Fest, a realm-wide event tied into Seasons 30 and 31. Contribute points, climb the leaderboard, and you might just secure a spot in the Battlerealm Brawl Quarter Finals, taking place November 8th in Vancouver.
