Lykke Studios’ Lumen is a puzzle game where you use lights, lenses, and mirrors to uncover old histories and discoveries, and it’s coming to Apple Arcade on 5th February this year.

Finding yourself in an old attic, you discover the antique box of Ms. Olivia MacLumen, a great inventor who lived in Scotland over a century ago and was a great inventor of her time. Using light, lenses and mirrors, you must restore the stories of her inventions which are preserved in the form of cinematic frames.

Each level you solve in Lumen will unlock a new frame of the film about MacLumen’s genius but fun inventions, and while Lykke has said each puzzle ranges from easy to hard in terms of difficulty, the game is family friendly and suitable for players of all ages and so it shouldn’t be too challenging. It best fits a ‘pick up and play’ style for either short or long sessions on your iOS device.

As well as that, the game features these stories in full 3D video, demonstrating the modern capabilities that games on smartphones can handle.

Lumen will be available on Apple Arcade next month, on 5th February. Apple Arcade is the digital subscription service for iOS devices which gives you access to a huge variety of mobile games, many of which are only available exclusively on this service. There’s a one month free trial period before the price increases to a monthly fee of £4.99.

You can also check out Lumen from its official iOS App Store page right here.
