As I wrap up for the week there's just enough time to cover another interesting upcoming release. And this time, it's Legion Match from developer Modusea, which is set to launch September 17th for iOS and Android. Legion Match has you connecting tiles to create trios, and using them to slowly wear down your foes.
Basically, in Legion Match you're presented with a battle between yourself and your forces (your legion, if you will). To start you're shown a group of tiles, and need to make matches, with combat frozen until you've cleared the board. After that your legion will attack, and depending how well you wore down your enemy it'll decide whether they win or lose.

Legion Match is a surprisingly straightforward pitch for a match-three game. And rather refreshingly there's not a hint of suspiciously AI-looking art anywhere. Of course, that throwback art style may put off some players, but it doesn't mean the gameplay is worth overlooking.Legion Match also boasts a truly dizzying amount of stages at 520, and 218 individual varieties of monsters. Of course, I can't promise all of these are wholly distinct, but it does mean you'll have plenty to pit your build against.
