Legends of Runeterra releases new Forces From Beyond expansion, introducing a ton of new cards and three new champions

The latest patch details for the upcoming 3.11 update for the popular League of Legends-themed digital card game, Legends of Runeterra, have officially been revealed. 3.11 will introduce plenty of new content such as new cards, mechanics, and keywords, as well as challenges, quests, AI decks, and even more. This is all alongside the continuation of the Star Guardian event, so there’s plenty to dig into here.

All of this fresh new content comes courtesy of the new expansion being introduced in 3.11; Forces From Beyond. This is a smaller expansion but does introduce three new champions alongside some basic cards and mechanics. The three new champions being added to the game are Evelyn, Gwen, and Kai’Sa. Each of these new champions comes with an assortment of basic cards that are each themed after their respective champion. Since the addition of so many cards is a bit too much for one article, you can take a look at each of them over on the Mobalytics reveal page.

What we can discuss however are the new keywords that each champion comes with. Evelyn’s origin is called Agony’s Embrace, which will summon a random Husk card when Evelyn is put into play. With her trait, you may also put any cards that summon Husks into your deck during deckbuilding as well. Next, we have Kai’sa’s Evolve origin. This trait will evolve all of your cards, which grants them +2/+2, once you summon or give 6 unique positive keywords to your cards. And finally, we have Gwen’s Hallowed trait, which will allow a card to take effect after death. For each Hallowed card that dies during this game, you’ll give +1/+0 to your first attacker that round.

Of course, there are a fair number of new quests and challenges associated with this patch that will cover the usual challenges dealt out like killing x amount of cards and so on. The bigger addition aside from all the new cards is the Return of Labs, which brings back the Labs game mode that was introduced as a limited-time game mode some time ago.

Phew! That’s a lot of new stuff! And not everything was covered here either! If you’d like a look at the full patch notes yourself, you can check out the official Runeterra website.
