When recently asked what her daddy did, my three-year-old failed to say, "he writes about games". Instead she said, "he farts". So I'm either the best or worst possible person to review this game, depending on your perception of toilet humour.
Legend of Equip Pants is a super-simple pixellated adventure in which you'll spend a lot of time looking for your underwear. If you're not creasing up at that idea, you might as well stop reading now.
Still here? Okay. The game is designed to be played in brief 10-20 minute chunks, which is about the time required to complete one of its episodes. There are two at the moment, with more planned for the future, including not just more content but additional game mechanics too.
At the moment, there are no stats, or combat, or equipment aside from the titular pants: just a few simple puzzles and a truly epic quantity of trouser-based humour.
The game pushes the concept of underwear related puns until the elastic almost snaps, with characters like your avatar, Sir Pantaslot, and his nemesis Count Pantsula.Slightly chafing
Each episode contains a variety of different conversations to have and a few scattered hidden items to find, and the idea is that you replay each until you get a 100 per cent rating. But the pull of the game is simply enjoying the ludicrous jokes, and I found that episodes got repetitive after a couple of attempts.
But the game is free (although there are some gentle nudges to contribute to the developer) and I found my quick playthrough hugely entertaining.
No game where you get to terrify the locals by wandering around with your tackle out, tastefully obscured by a black stripe to satisfy Apple, can be entirely without merit.
