K2: Digital Edition will release on Android and iOS soon as Steam version is set to go live

Just wait a little longer than the PC gamers

K2: Digital Edition will release on Android and iOS soon as Steam version is set to go live
  • K2: Digital Edition is an adaptation of a popular board game
  • You must control every aspect of an expedition and help climbers reach the summit
  • Steam launch on April 29th, mobile release should follow soon

K2: Digital Edition is making its way to mobile soon, bringing the challenge of high-altitude mountaineering to iOS and Android. Based on the well-known board game, this adaptation puts you in charge of an expedition, balancing risk, acclimatisation, and changing weather as you guide your climbers to the summit.

K2: Digital Edition isn’t just a climbing simulator.  You’re leading an expedition, making the decisions that determine whether your team reaches the top or gets caught in dangerous conditions. Do you push forward quickly before the weather turns, or set up camps and wait for the right moment?

Every choice matters, and careful planning is key to survival. The mobile version will offer single-player and multiplayer, with real-time and asynchronous options so you can compete against AI or challenge friends at your own pace.

Expect multiple mountains to conquer, including K2, Everest, Lhotse, and Broad Peak, each with different challenges. The digital edition also includes all expansions, and a story campaign designed specifically for this version. Missions will come with rule variations, forcing you to adjust your strategy depending on the terrain, conditions, and competition.

While we mobile gamers still have to wait, PC players get their hands on K2 first, especially with an updated demo that is currently available. This includes enhanced visibility when selecting climbers, better interface scaling, additional tooltips, and general performance enhancements. You can expect the same deep strategy and careful decision-making when the iOS and Android versions arrive.

The release date for the mobile version of K2: Digital Edition hasn’t been announced yet, though the Steam launch is set for April 29th. So, it shouldn’t be too long before you can take this climb on the go. Visit the official Steam page for more information.
