But can it succeed?

Immortal Rising 2 is still trying to make Web3 cool, out now

  • Immortal Rising 2 is the upcoming Web3 sequel to the original game
  • It's coming from Planetarium Labs and Bad beans
  • If you're pre-registered you can benefit from free summons and more

When it comes to game sequels, there are some that are good, some that are bad, and some that just make you think, "Oh, that exists?" Unfortunately, Immortal Rising 2 seems to fall into the latter as a follow-up to the small indie title Immortal Rising. Coming from developers Planetarium Labs and Bad Beans.

If you haven't heard of Immortal Rising 2 I don't blame you, as despite boasting somewhere in the region of 400k pre-registrations it's managed to slip very much under the radar. That's likely not helped by the fact that the game seemingly isn't coming to any of the major (or even alternate) app stores and is only downloadable from a very suspect QR code page.

Still, if you do want to hop into Immortal Rising 2, pre-registered players can benefit from free summons and all that rigmarole that you'd come to expect. You can also take a gander at the teaser trailer below.

Personally speaking, I've no idea why people are still trying to make Web3 work in games. It was bad enough when it was everywhere, but now the few holdouts seem to be endlessly struggling against the current. I just don't think there's any interest, and it doesn't help that games like Immortal Rising 2 seem more concerned with bragging about how their game will 'change' things than promoting its actual features.

In any case, if you want to play some great games out now on mobile, why not leap into our list of the best mobile games of 2024 (so far) to grab some top titles from the last nine months that are already out?

And if you want something a bit more current, there's always the latest entry in our regular feature of the top five new mobile games to try this week, featuring the best launches from the last seven days!
