Identity V, NetEase's popular multiplayer horror game, celebrates its second anniversary with a new Event, Survivor and Costumes

NetEase's popular asymmetrical multiplayer horror title Identity V has received an update today as the game celebrates its second anniversary. The latest batch of content being introduced includes a new character, event and costume.

We'll start with the new character, who is called Melly Plinius or The Entomologist. As you might expect from that title, she's incredibly au fait with all things creepy-crawly related, which is reflected in her suite of abilities. For instance, her external trait – Insects Research – allows her to assemble a swarm of bugs in her net that will reduce the movement speed of hunters.

Another of her external traits is called Mixed Reagent which will provide assistance to her allies by increasing their vaulting speed. However, her potential trait, which is called Exotic Order, will show her location for 5 more seconds once she has left Hunter's line of sight.

Alongside the arrival of the new Survivor, there will be a themed event called Atropos' Ropes that will celebrate the game's second anniversary. It will be independent of the main story and will see players visiting the Golden Rose Theatre, with the event taking place between today and 31st July.

This will see players investigating the theatre, with more of the mystery being unravelled as they explore further. Additional clues will be obtained by logging onto Identity V each day as well as through completing a set of battle quests. Rewards on offer include costume unlock cards, game currencies, event costumes for the Photographer and the Barmaid, an event pendant and more.

Finally, there will be a host of Golden Rose themed costumes making their way into the game beyond those for the Photographer and Barmaid during the event period. There will also be a plethora of accessories and other themed costumes to try on.

Identity V is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
