I-play Bowling hoping to hit an iPhone strike

I-play has revealed that it's bringing its I-play Bowling mobile game to iPhone and iPod touch in January.

The original supported motion-sensing bowling on handsets with accelerometers inside (which were few and far between at the time), but thankfully that feature has made it through to iPhone.

We played the game today, and although not quite finished, it works pretty well. You use the touchscreen to position your bowler and aim, before tapping and holding the ball, and jerking your hand forward in a pseudo-bowling motion to bowl.

The game's been visually revamped to take advantage of iPhone's OpenGL ES hardware.

It's kept the Build-a-Bowler feature, where you create your cartoon avatar by tweaking various body parts. There are nine AI opponents to bowl against, plus the option to play against friends by passing the handset.
