Disappear off the network and share encrypted text messages using the new HIDE Watch Dogs companion app

We've already seen a mobile companion app for Ubisoft's upcoming console game Watch Dogs that turned your phone into a hacking device.

Now, there's one that enables you to 'hide' your voice and encrypt your text messages on social networks.

HIDE is a free companion app for your iPhone or Android device that allows you to mask your voice when making 20-second-long recordings.

With HIDE installed on your iPhone or your Android handset, you can also share encrypted text messages and pictures on Facebook and Twitter.

Others who have the HIDE app can decrypt anything you share on social platforms, but you can, of course, do the same with their messages.

Everyone who downloads the app receives a "H_IDENTITY", an identity card that enables you to view your hacker rank among the community.

More interestingly, perhaps, you can also unlock exclusive items for the Watch Dogs console game via your H_IDENTITY.

There's also a "H_IDE STORE" within the app. From here, you can scroll through a list of the features Watch Dogs's Aiden Pierce has on his phone in the game.

After touching the faux purchase options, you are sent to a Watch Dogs pre-order page. Surprise, surprise.
