Free Fire’s Street Fighter V crossover event in July welcomes Ryu and Chun-Li into the battle royale

Here comes a new challenger! Garena’s Free Fire is launching a Street Fighter V collaboration this July, with fan-favourite characters Ryu and Chun-Li entering the arena. Capcom’s heavy-hitting fighting game is the latest in a long line of popular brands Garena has partnered with in the past, including Japanese anime Attack on Titan and even football star Cristiano Ronaldo.

When the collaboration event goes live next month, players can experience the glory of battle with Ryu and Chun-Li. Along with these two iconic characters, there will also be lots of exclusive collaboration content, as well as limited event experiences and brand-new activities. Plus, there will be a full interface reskin and tons of themed collectibles players can get their hands on.

“Street Fighter revolutionized fighting video games. It is a franchise many of us grew up with, playing as its iconic characters like Ryu and Chun-Li,” Free Fire Producer Harold Teo says. “Bringing a part of Street Fighter into Free Fire and welcoming Ryu and Chun-Li to Bermuda is something our players will enjoy.”

Right now, Free Fire just released its latest Elite Pass called Evil Enchanted, with fairytale-themed items and new cosmetics reminiscent of the classic Cinderella story. With the EP’s new characters and intriguing story, Survivors will be happily preoccupied until the Street Fighter V collab launches in July.

Eager to get your hands on the 10-minute survival shooter? Garena’s Free Fire is available to download on the App Store and on Google Play. It’s a free-to-play battle royale game with in-app purchases. For more about the Street Fighter V collab, you can check out the official teaser trailer to get a better feel of the event.
