Fortnite's Skywalker Week event introduces iconic skins from Star Wars' Original Trilogy

Fortnite just launched a new content update, v22.30, which introduces an extremely iconic set of characters. There isn’t a new event, tournament, or questline as such, since Fortnitemares 2022 has just concluded, but the Force has definitely reawakened in this update.

Joining Fortnite’s roster of over 1,000 unique skins is Star Wars’ original trio – Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo. While we aren’t celebrating Star Wars Day or any other event, the battle royale is hosting Skywalker Week for every space fantasy fan.

Those Vbucks were already going to get spent with the release of the Fortnite x Polo Ralph Lauren crossover that goes live soon, but it looks like players will need some more as the Item Shop is set to feature much more than the Imperial Stormtrooper that was the only outfit from the Original Trilogy. Now, there are three beloved skins to enjoy, alongside their alternative styles, and accessories.

Kicking things off is, of course, the centre of the Star Wars universe, Luke Skywalker, with the Training Remote Back Bling, Slugthrower Pickaxe, and X-34 Landspeeder Glider. Princess Leia Organa will be seen in her iconic white dress and desert outfits with the trusty R2-D2 as her Back Bling and the Electrostaff Pickaxe.

Finally, we have the smuggler, Han Solo. His Millennium Falcon Back Bling and Vibro-Staff Pickaxe suit his character perfectly. Pair that with the Millennium Falcon Glider from a few years ago, and you have the perfect cosmetic set available.

Unfortunately, no Lightsaber pickaxes this time. It doesn’t seem like Epic Games has any plans on introducing them either. But, on the brighter side, Imperial Chests return, containing Luke’s Blue and Green Lightsabers. Even Darth Vader’s Red Lightsaber with the block and boomerang mechanics is back.

Other Star Wars items that have been unvaulted for Skywalker Week include the E-11 Blaster Rifles and the Junk Rift. The latter will come in handy as there’s a small chance of it dropping Luke’s X-34 Landspeeder.

Celebrate the Skywalker Saga now by downloading Fortnite from the official website or play using XCloud.
