Fortnite brings back Fortnitemares, allowing players to transform into Werewolves this time

Fortnite’s most awaited event of the year, Fortnitemares, is back with a bang. Every year, Epic Games celebrates Halloween on Fortnite with this massive event and Fortnitemares 2022 is going to be no different. DJ Lyka has a lot planned for players as this year’s Halloween update will allow them to transform under the moonlight…

You read that right. During Fortnitemares 2022, players will be able to become wolf-like monsters with special abilities using the Reality Tree. In addition to that, a series of quests will go live with themed rewards up for grabs. And, of course, Cube Monsters make their return alongside some beloved vaulted items. Halloween celebrations on Fortnite will continue until November 1st.

Let’s kick things off with how players can become a werewolf. Hop onto the Reality Tree’s Alternation Altar, where an option to perform the Ritual Emote will show up. Once done, players will gain the Howler Claws that come with unique abilities to unlock your canine nature.

After equipping the claws, players will unlock the Wolfscent Ability, which enhances their senses by granting tracking vision and the ability to mark nearby enemies. The feature comes in handy when being tracked by someone else’s tracking vision, as a heartbeat sound will increase in volume as they get closer.

On the more offensive side, as werewolves, players will be able to perform a four-combo melee attack with the Slash Ability, and double jump into the air and drop on others, using the Air Slash Ability. It’s like being Wolverine minus immortality.

Elsewhere, the iconic Horde Rush mode is back, this time with Zero Builds. Squads will have to survive numerous waves of monsters, gather score multipliers, perform combos, and beat the final boss without laying down a single tile. The mode will be available until November 15th.

Players will have to complete a tonne of quests which involve transforming into the werewolf, playing in the Horde Rush mode, using unvaulted weapons like the Pumpkin Launcher, consuming candy, and more in order to unlock a lot of XP.

Additional rewards include the Everything’s End Glider, Chrome Cage Back Bling, and the Unmaker Pickaxe. Plus, the Item Shop will also feature the Sinister Glare and Undying Sorrow skins that were inspired by winners of March’s Concept Royale.

Get ready for another spooky Halloween by downloading Fortnite now from the official website or play using XCloud.
