NetEase has announced the start of its Closed Beta Test for Fading City, its upcoming open-world survival mobile game. Built with Unreal Engine 4 (UE4), the game takes players on a journey through a so-called "wasteland city" where hordes of the undead lurk in every corner.

Fading City lets players dive into the unforgiving realities of a doomsday scenario where they'll have to do whatever it takes to survive a zombie-infested land. With multiplayer support for two to four players, the game features vast exploration across one million square meters. It also boasts challenging puzzles and tons of opportunities to team up to fight against the infected.

Players will have to scour the city to score valuable resources and hidden loot, as well as hunt for weapons and equipment to fortify shelters. Guns are customisable to suit players' varying playstyles, and different strategies await trap masters, stealth assassins and so on. There is also the looming threat of a high-risk zombie that towers above the city, as it's almost as huge as a building.
