Eastern Odyssey, a steampunk adventure through ancient Asia, is now open for pre-registrations
Gtarcade has just announced pre-registrations for their silkpunk gacha RPG for mobile, Eastern Odyssey. Set in the civilization of Grand Tang and inspired by the Journey of the West, the title combines sci-fi elements in a fantasy world. The closed beta test should go live before the end of the year too.
In Eastern Odyssey, magic and machines come together in a world based on Asian mythos and tales. The game takes place in a parallel universe where players will learn of Grand Tang’s 300 years of prosperity. The journey begins from Chang’ an and it sees players travel along the Silk Road as they move from the east to the west, coming along a diverse variety of cultures and traditions.
Grand Tang has immensely prospered thanks to Mana Energy being discovered. But too much of something is never good, and the overuse of this energy also introduced Miasma, a negative power that brings chaos into the world. Everyone affected by it turns mad and this has grossly destroyed whatever peace was left.
As players progress through the game, they will come across a lot of unique characters that will majorly fall into four factions - the Meruvians and Eternals both comprise Deities that are responsible for keeping the world safe. Azures are humans that make use of mana, and the Wanlings are the plants and animals of the world with unusual skills.
Gameplay will be card-based and there are near-infinite combinations to conjure. All these characters can be upgraded with any R hero being able to become an SSR one. The characters will have the support of the Monkey King, who was once a Great Sage and is now an ally in this journey to the west.
