How do you build your team, and what do you do with elemental weaknesses? These Duet Night Abyss tips should give you everything you need to get started.

I've been playing Duet Night Abyss quite a bit, and the more I played, the more I realised that it rewards actual practice (and a bit of patience). It feels closer to a hack-and-slash than a typical gacha, and at first, it might feel overwhelming - like everything is happening at once. But once you start learning how characters move and how to deal with bosses, everything becomes far more enjoyable.

What really helped me, though, especially early on, was slowing down. When you pay attention to the small systems, everything will make more sense.

If you are also just starting out, or if you're feeling kind of stuck, these Duet Night Abyss tips can make a big difference - they certainly did for me. They come from actual gameplay, plenty of mistakes (oops), and a lot of experimenting. Hopefully, they'll save you some time so you can start hacking and slashing like a pro!

Tip #1 - Make sure you focus on one character early on

levelling up the main character with eye patch

I learned the hard way that levelling everyone at once does not help. DNA limits your early materials, and trying to balance your roster is going to feel too much. You'll run out of resources faster than you'll realise, which is kinda sad if you ask me.

I suggest you pick the character that feels the best for you and focus on them. Once you commit to a single carry, progress will feel much more stable. And trust me - the bosses won't give you such a headache.

Tip #2 - Secondary Support > DPS

gacha for the beautiful blue outfit

Oh, just trust me on this one.

You want a secondary character as good support, period. Whenever you assemble your team, you'll want to focus on one element and then have one main DPS.

Other than the main DPS, you want to have supports that are the same element. Think about it this way: your main DPS is Lynn (who is Pyro), and as secondary, you want to have someone like Truffle and Filbert, and your main character.

Truffle and Filbert are great for providing some healing and a much-needed damage boost for teammates.

Tip #3 - Dodge and never stand still

This gacha-but-not-gacha punishes anyone who stands still. You can't just madly tap everything and hope for the best. You must learn when and how to dodge perfectly, because dodging is not just for survival.

You should try to make it part of your skill rotation. In a way, you could think of it as a core mechanic in these Duet Night Abyss tips - it's not a button you use only in case of emergency, as it usually is in some RPGs.

I'd say you should still try to avoid any red carpets (the red area a boss will show when they're about to attack), because that's where the danger is.

All in all, I just think you should make sure you are constantly moving, because once you build that as a habit, it'll make your life a lot easier in PvP too.

Tip #4 - Take advantage of elemental weaknesses

battle on the platform

If you ever get stuck, it's not the end of the world. You might just need to change up your team a little bit. There are several elements, and you want to take advantage of their traits.

  • Hydro> Pyro
  • Pyro> Anemo
  • Anemo> Electro
  • Electro> Hydro
  • Lumino> Umbro
  • Umbro> Lumino

As you can see, Lumino and Umbro basically counter each other. As for the others (the general nature elements), you can try to create a team that counters the opponent you're facing.

These element matchups matter more here than in many other action gachas, especially against bosses.

We have a complete Duet Night Abyss tier list for that, so if you're interested in who you should go for, make sure you check it out!

Tip #5 - Focus on your quests

extra stats gained by completing a quest

Regardless of how busy you are, you should never be too busy for dailies. Plan your playing time around them, because the resources will count - a lot. It might not sound like much, but think about the endgame.

You should also read through the achievements and see what you can try to complete for additional rewards. You can get titles, Coins, and plenty of other goods from the achievements.

Tip #6 - Look around for chests

One of the things I like about DNA is the free exploration. There's so much to enjoy. You don't want to miss the chests scattered throughout the world. These chests are just plain old chests, so nothing stands out about them (which is why it's so easy to miss them). However, they contain Trial EXP and plenty of other loot.

As you keep exploring, you should also look for all these little spots with items you can interact with. They usually have a golden glow, which is a bit faint.

You can explore the world however you want, so make sure you try to pick up all the stuff you think could add up for achievements, quests, or your character.

Tip #7 - More tips and tricks!

There is so much you could do since there is no shortage of content, but I've got a few extra Duet Night Abyss tips to help you get started:

  • Consider getting the Monthly Pass - this will give you additional resources every day you log in. You'll also get an avatar frame, so if you want to have some extra style points, that's going to cost you $4.99.
  • Check the exclusive shops for items you could exchange.
  • You can get more Trial EXP in a few different ways, from unlocking new characters, weapons, to completing quests and upgrading pretty much everything you have.
  • The maximum Trial Rank is 65, which is when you'll gain some massive extra stats, so try to go for that.
  • You can get more rewards by claiming the latest Duet Night Abyss codes too!
