Domination Dynasty is a multiplayer, low poly take on the Civ formula
But is there a spectre lurking over it?

- Domination Dynasty is a new Civ-like from indie studio DFW Games
- It boasts thousands of players and a simultaneous turn system based on a global timer
- Progress from ancient to post-modern and build new units, structures and more
Ever wanted to dominate the world versus thousands of other players in a grand, turn-based strategy? That's the dream and something many games have tried to tackle. The latest to throw their hat into the ring is indie studio DFW Games with their new 4x strategy Domination Dynasty.
Domination Dynasty offers all the standard elements you'd expect from a Civ-like, with different civilizations that boast unique modifiers, tech research and the slow creep from ancient times to post-modern capabilities for your buildings and units.
One innovative aspect is the global round timer. How does a game with thousands of players like this handle them? Well, simple, by letting all players plan their turns at once, and then executing their orders after a global round timer. We'd have to see how it works in practice, but in theory, this allows an enormous number of players to duke it out for dominance.

The only thing that sort of irks us about Domination Dynasty is the infrequent use of AI. You can see it on the main visual we've used and in some of the promotional images and in-game icons. Which is a shame, because the low poly-aesthetic is something that stands well on its own, especially for 4x games as The Battle of Polytopia has shown us.
Still, we'd have to play to be sure. Domination Dynasty is out now on iOS and Android!
