Dolphin Wave, a brand new waifu-collection RPG with water-sports combat, opens up pre-registration for Japan gamers

Honey Parade Games have announced that pre-registration for their upcoming gacha RPG Dolphin Wave has begun for Japanese audiences. This water-sports-based anime-style waifu collector sees you doing battle on jet skis against other squads, competing in a fictional sport called Jet Battle.
While it's a very silly concept that is clearly intended to show off the attractive waifus, this water sports battle RPG is actually seemingly quite in-depth. It plays out not too dissimilar to something like Uma Musume, where the combat sequences are more like cutscenes that adjust themselves depending on your party and what abilities you choose to use.
For example, within the trailer featured below, you can see two squads of jet ski-riding hotties chasing after another one. This is then followed up by what appears to be somewhat of a card-based system, choosing characters to go into four separate slots that adjust the damage that you’ll deal to your target before the girl on the back of the jetski takes aim with a sniper and deals a hefty amount of damage to their target.

Again, it’s a silly concept, but also one that is entirely unique even in practice. This is not your average Granblue Fantasy-type combat where your squad simply squares off against another. No - instead, you’ll be chasing after your opponents within a water arena and pursuing them with your vehicle, taking potshots and using ultimate abilities as well as defending against their own attacks.
This makes for a really interesting take on the somewhat oversaturated turn-based gacha RPG combat, so it’s nice to see a change of pace. If we’re lucky, we’ll get a global release at some point after the planned launch in Japan later this year.
For now, you can pre-register at either of the links below, or check out the official website for more information alongside screenshots and trailers and even character bios!
