MOBILE GAMING WINS BIG

The results of the Pocket Gamer Awards 2022 are in - and they are glorious

In case you missed it, the Pocket Gamer Awards 2022 held in the hallowed halls of YouTube and Twitch last night were all about the best mobile games of the year, highlighting the most notable ones that made an impact on our lives in one way or another.

We asked you guys, our dearest readers, about which games you felt best represented a variety of categories. And because picking just one winner from the sea of amazing titles that were nominated is an impossible task, it's a good thing we didn't have to - the winners of each category were voted on by the community, and the results are indeed smashing.

In a live stream sponsored by Diablo Immortal, we did a two-hour rundown of all the nominees, talked about their quirks and eccentricities, discussed alternate universes where we could play every single game on the list without a second thought to adulting, and gave credit where credit was due when it came to the well-deserved wins. Laughs were had, shenanigans ensued, and hypothetical choppers of piracy police descended upon the stream as a lovely community joined in on the live chat.

Of course, you don't have to take my word for it - you can catch the replay of the stream in the embedded clip below. Or better yet, you can head on over to the official Pocket Gamer Awards 2022 page to see highlights of the stream and check out the complete list of winners. There were oldies but goodies, a few pleasant surprises here and there, and underdogs that took the crown in different categories - a truly fabulous way to end the year with a bang.
