Like every respectable DC Universe fan, I felt it was my duty to share all the things you need to know about this RPG, mainly because there are things you want to avoid doing. So, today, we have a complete DC Dark Legion guide that will set you on the right path.

If you have already played DC Dark Legion, you've probably noticed how good it actually is. No surprises there; after all, it's one of the hottest releases right now. What you might've missed is that you can completely enjoy this as a F2P player since all the content can be completed with the champions you get from the start and a few others you'll recruit along the way.

So buckle up because below, you'll find some hot tips for DC Dark Legion to help you get started, and I'll also cover how you should spend your time each day to get the most bang for your buck (well, time. You don't have to spend any money)!

Without any doubt, it's very F2P-friendly

Despite being friendly towards people who don't plan on spending a dime, there are also some perks for those who want to spend a dollar (insert your local currency here) or two! Of course, since DC Dark Legion is more PvE-oriented at the start, you want to make sure that all of the heroes you upgrade are top-tier - for that, I recommend you read the Dark Legion tier list I created.

Next, you might also consider making a one-time purchase to get a hero or a pack you're particularly interested in and then continue as F2P afterwards. Regardless of what path you take, the end result is the same: you get to the late game with a decent team and can complete as much content as possible.

Let's dive into my DC Dark Legion tips then!

Tip #1 - Upgrade everything in your base to max

war room

One of the first and most important things I recommend you do is upgrade all of the rooms in your base. The more you upgrade them, the more you'll be able to upgrade the War Room. The War Room is the most important of all, since it's where you can increase your power and champion level cap. I recommend that you always upgrade at least the required rooms needed to max out the War Room ASAP.

How to upgrade everything quickly

There is one little tip that will save you a lot of time when working on upgrades for your base. If you hold down the button to upgrade, it will do them all continuously. I recommend you do that, instead of tapping on everything one by one.

Appoint the right champions to each room

Each room can have a couple of champions appointed for production. I recommend you always re-shuffle your champions as you get new ones, until you find some that give the biggest percentage increase to the room. For instance, in the Training Nexus with Black Canary and Bane, you will get 30% + 30%, so 60%, whereas in the Bio Lab with Mera and Red Hood, you only get 15% + 15%, so 30% overall. Make sure you put the right heroes in the right places to give you the best bonuses.

Tip #2 - Join a good, active League

guild tasks dc dark legion

I can't emphasise just how important it is to be part of an ACTIVE League. Once you join a League (which is the equivalent of a guild), you can upgrade everything much faster alongside participating in Legion battles, which is where you'll get a lot of goodies. You can do a few legion battles every day, but that will add up to a lot of good rewards.

Another good reason you need to join a League is that you will get a lot of free speed-ups. This doesn't come close to anything in terms of how good it is by itself. Whenever you have a room to upgrade (anything except the War Room), you can simply ask for help from your guildmates, and the timer gets a considerable cut.

Don't forget to make your daily donations

The only thing you should be doing in return to help your League colleagues is to donate daily. You should also help everyone in need, since they're helping you.

Tip #3 - Complete all your dailies

patrol daily quest

There's never a shortage of dailies and side quests in DC Dark Legion. You will have quite a few tasks that I recommend completing every single day (the daily quests), but there are also side missions and main missions, which are essentially the "questline" and "side quests".

First off, I suggest focusing on completing all your dailies. These can be found when you tap on the Batman icon (bottom left side)> Daily. After finishing them all, you can claim the max rewards chest. It provides a lot of resources, including Stimulator, which raises your heroes' level cap.

Then, we have the main missions, which are nice to do. They give you a lot of Energy Keys, which translate into a lot of pulls. You will complete these as you play anyway, so as long as you upgrade your base and champions and do your dailies (and a few more tasks every day), you will claim a lot of rewards from them too.

Tip #4 - Invest in a handful of heroes

superman in dc dark legion

I already went over this briefly in our tier list, but it's important to form a team with the best champions as much as possible. You can reset heroes, too, but it's better if you just go for the best heroes possible from the very beginning. The reset has a cooldown, so if you want to change up your entire team, it can take a while.

Something else that might help you decide on a few good heroes for a team is their synergy. You should always check what kind of affinities a champion has and choose their teammates based on that. Take Superman, for instance - he is part of the Superman Family, a Metahuman and the Justice League. You can see what kind of synergy he will get if you use multiple champions from the same factions (typically 3+). Always take this into account when you form a team.

Tip #5 - Want to spend money? This is what's worth it!

explore the world

I already mentioned that you have a plethora of options and things to do if you don't want to spend money - what I failed to say is what is worth buying if you do decide to spend some money! Of course, there are things that offer amazing rewards, and if you want to spend a few bucks once or every month, there are options. Here are the best items that give you the most bang for your buck:

  • Gift of the Source - this gives you the second construction queue, which is arguably the best thing you can buy for about $2.
  • Batman Starter Pack - this pack gives you Batman and some other goods for $2. You can claim rewards from this for three days straight.

Tip #6 - Complete World Map tasks

base upgraded

The more tasks you complete in the World Map, the more chapters you'll unlock. The World Map has some tasks where you can go on patrol, fight enemies or explore various cities. It's best to use up all your Intel Points every day here, because it will help you advance quicker.

When you have to face an enemy that you cannot beat (been there, done that), just go do something else - like the daily instances, then go back and upgrade your team, and challenge the World Map enemies again. It's a constant back-and-forth here at the higher stages, so prepare yourself mentally!

Tip #7 - Other DC Dark Legion tips and tricks!

walking through stage dc dark legion

Here are a bunch more tips to help you:

  • Add more friends to your friends list, and don't forget to send and receive daily gifts from all of them - these resources will add up nicely!
  • Do all of your daily coordinated assaults (Defeat the Dark Legion)!
  • Climb as much as you can in the Training Simulator because the rewards are pretty good!
  • Spend your Intel Points in the specific Anti-Crime Network field for the resources you need the most.
  • Play five Meta Brawl battles every single day. If you can't manage five, go for at least three!
  • Upgrade your base on the surface too, not just underground.
  • Complete the Survey in your mailbox for additional rewards.
  • Cast all your gear dupes to star up the equipment you have.
