Bilo: Essenol is a new platformer with hand-drawn aesthetics, out now on Google Play

Indie dev Adam Fischer has officially announced the mobile launch of Bilo: Essenol, a quirky platformer game that's out now on Android via Google Play. The colourful platformer invites players to solve puzzles across dungeon levels while battling against enemies and bosses along the way.
In Bilo: Essenol, players will follow the tale of Bilo, the titular protagonist who begins his story stuck inside a tree for some reason. He sets off on a dangerous adventure to "fix his past mistake" across a portrait-mode platformer meant to remind players of days long past in the sense that the controls should make them feel like they're playing on a retro handheld console.

As you can see from the trailer, the game also features lovely background music and an optional story with hand-drawn illustrations for those who are looking for more of a narrative journey. It also doesn't bombard players with ads, as users can choose when they want to watch ads at their leisure. They can opt to purchase lives, however, as the game's monetisation scheme. Based on the trailer, it seems that some levels will require players to pay a certain number of lives, but these can be earned by watching ads that offer 7 lives and such.
If you're eager to join in on all the fun and experience the game for yourself, you can download Bilo: Essenol on the Google Play Store for Android devices. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases. If you're curious, you can also have a look at the embedded clip above for a sneak peek at the game's vibes, visuals and mechanics.
