Civilization VI was first released in 2016 on PC. Over the years, it has expanded to about every platform and has continued to gained popularity. If for any reason, you are looking for an alternative to Civilization VI, then you have come to the right place. In this post, we will share with you our list of the 5 best mobile games like Civilization.

We will also keep updating this list from time to time, adding and removing games so that you can always come back for the best mobile games like Civilization.

About Civilization VI

In Civilization VI, you try to build the world's greatest empire. It's a strategy game which is free to download. You pick one of several dozen leaders and then guide your tiny settlement through the ages until it’s a bustling metropolis. As you progress, you participate in massive turn-based battles, discuss political affairs with your neighbours and slowly gather more resources. You get the first 60 turns for free, after which you are given an option to upgrade to the premium version to continue playing.

Civilization VI is one of the best strategy games on mobile. If you have already played any of the previous games in the Civilization series, you probably agree. Though it makes no sense to compare the mobile and PC versions, if we were to do that, we would say there is absolutely nothing that the mobile version is missing. Furthermore, since it's free-to-play for the first 60 turns, you can try it and decide for yourself if you want to buy it. You can get it for iOS through the App Store, while for Android, you can download it from Google Play.

So let's not waste more time and dig into our list of the 5 best mobile games like Civilization.

1
Forge of Empires: Build a City

Developed and published by InnoGames, Forge of Empires: Build a City is a popular strategy game released in 2012 on the web browser. It later came to iOS in 2014 and Android in 2015. Even though it's one of the oldest mobile games on the list, the developer's regular updates have kept the game fresh and entertaining.

In Forge of Empires, you have to expand and develop a city, evolving from the Stone Age to the colonization of Jupiter Moon. You also have to build and manage an army with different types of battle units and plunder your enemy's cities for resources. On your journey to the modern-day and beyond, you get to research technologies and unlock new buildings and decorations.

World of Empires 2

World of Empires 2 is very much like Civilization. They are graphically very similar and even the map is built using hexagonal tiles. The Battle of Polytopia

Last on the list, we have The Battle of Polytopia. It's a turn-based strategy game developed and published by Midjiwan AB. If I were to pick my favourite on this list, it would be The Battle of Polytopia.

In The Battle of Polytopia, you get to choose one of 12 distinct civilizations and lead them towards victory by expanding your empire, researching technologies and becoming the most powerful economy in the world. It features both single-player and multiplayer game modes, supporting up to 15 players.

The Battle of Polytopia was released initially in February 2016 on iOS. Later in the same year, it expanded to Android. A fun fact, it's also available to play in Tesla cars.
